Technology of putting heat-resistant coating "silver-rhenium dioxide".

Description

Offered technology of putting "silver-rhenium dioxide" coating deals with a galvanic stationary precipitation of this coating from the aqueous homogeneous solutions of electrolytes at room temperature under the control of density of current. The technology allows to obtain antifriction depositions "silver-rhenium dioxide" , with the rhenium dioxide contents up to 15 weight percent, therewith the coating structure changes from the crystalline to the amorphous one. High antifriction and heat-resistant properties of this coating are provided by the presence of refractory rhenium dioxide having a double electric link between rhenium and oxygen.

Benefits

Known in the USA galvanic method of putting "silver-rhenium dioxide" coating with rhenium dioxide contents no more than 3 weight percent. Before using this galvanic method the parts to be covered must be sandblasted. Advantages of offered technology are the following:

  • high-quality coating precipitation on any steel kind as well as on the copper, aluminum and their alloys;
  • absence of sandblasting treatment of the part surface before the coating application;
  • possibility of coating application with rhenium dioxide contents up to 15 weight percent;
  • absence of the solution mixing and pumping over;
  • high anode and cathode output of current;
  • good dispersing ability of the electrolyte;
  • coating putting on parts with practically any dimensions;

complete absence of free potassium cyanide in electrolyte.

Project development

Proposed technology provides coatings with the following properties:

  • microhardness 150-200 kg/sq.mm;
  • peration temperature -269 ... + 1300 °C;
  • sliding friction coefficient at the temperatures up to 600 °C 0.05-0.1;
  • stability in the media: vacuum down to 10-3 mm of Hg, helium, liquid hydrogen and oxygen, sea mist;
  • allowable contact loads up to 100 kg/sq.mm;
  • lowers contact loads on the base metal;
  • possesses dampening properties.

The technology was used in industrial scale. Parts covered by this coating are under exploitation on some Russian plants.

Application, commercial use

Offered technology ensures a manufacturing of high-quality coatings on the friction assembly parts such as drive gears of watch mechanisms, rings and separators of high-speed bearings, gyroscopic system parts, etc.

Inventors background

Inventor works as researcher in scientific research institute. She is the author of about 10 scientific publication and the owner of about 15 patents.

More information is available under CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT. The inventor agrees to demonstrate Customer samples (parts covered by coatings). The inventor also can put coating on parts delivered by Customer.
